STOKE-ON-TRENT politicians have spoken of their shock after the death of Labour MP Jo Cox who was stabbed and shot during a brutal attack.
Ms Cox, the 41-year-old Labour MP for Batley and Spen, was left bleeding on the floor by an offender following the shocking attack in her constituency shortly before 1pm today. She has subsequently died.
Police have arrested a 52-year-old man near Market Street – near where the MP holds a weekly surgery.
